house improvements

Over the 6 weeks summer holidays we did some work on the rental property we moved into at Easter. This gave me time to get some sewing jobs finished and stopped hubby getting bored a week into the holidays like he usually does.

First I finished the curtains for our bedroom

Then once hubby had painted this wall in our kitchen diner a few shades darker than the other walls we added this vinyl outline of a VW campervan which I love. Doesn't it look cool!

Then it was time for hubby to tackle the very neglected small add on between the kitchen and the garage that we wanted to turn into a utility room. That meant knocking off damaged plaster, sealing walls, painting the floor and painting the walls.

Hubby let me choose this lovely pale pink for the walls and we chose a silvery grey for the floor. He installed the washing machine and added a worktop over that and the freezer. We already had some metal shelves and just bought one more to match. Add in some ikea storage boxes to keep everything organised and dust free and we were done. It's like a completely different room in there and I love it! It's so nice having a clever hubby.
